CAREER OPPORTUNITY - CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Our Client, a local shipping company is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to fill the post of Customer Service Representative.

The Role

The Customer Service Representative reports to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for: 

  • Notifying consignees of incoming cargo via email and telephone.
  • Handling complaints and queries from customers and agents.
  • Entering manifests in ASYCUDA and acquiring registration numbers.
  • Preparing amendments for Customs as required.
  • Preparing invoices and Bills of Ladings for customers.
  • Releasing required documentation to customers and collecting payments for freight.
  • Co-ordinating trucking deliveries.
  • Notifying consignees on the collection of outstanding shipments.
  • Any other assigned duties. 

The Candidate 

The Customer Service Representative should: 

  • Have a background in shipping.
  • Have a minimum of five CXC passes including Math and English with at least two years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • Have sound understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with Intermediate level experience using Excel.
  • Be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks on a daily basis
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills.
  • Be familiar with QuickBooks.
